Lower brass Instructor

R. Chuck Jacks has been teaching music for 22 years, in various capacities as a Lesson Teacher, Assistant Band Director, College Pep Band Director & Grad Assistant, High School Marching Band Director, and K-12 Band Teacher.


For 5 years, Chuck was employed as a Jazz Trombone Player for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, traveling to 6 continents, including Antarctica!


Chuck is active in Classical Music as well.  In the Fall of 2019, his resume was one of only 65 that were selected to audition in San Diego, CA, with the San Diego Symphony for the Bass Trombone opening.  


Chuck maintains an active rehearsal schedule with his new Jazz Group, “The Chuck Jacks Trio”.  He is also performing the Tuba part with the “South Hills Brass” Quintet (outdoor porch and driveway concerts).  He is co-section leader and plays Bass Trombone in the “West Hills Symphonic Band”.  Chuck is also 1st Trombone in the “Washington Jazz Orchestra”.


Chuck has experience teaching marching band, and also marched Soprano 1 in the Alumni Drum Corps, “Blue Eagles”, in eastern Pennsylvania (Wind Gap, PA).  Chuck is currently the Low Brass Coach for the MonValley Express Drum Corps, and enjoying this new challenge!  


Chuck is currently self-employed as a full-time Online Music Lesson Teacher for Low Brass Instruments (Trombone, Tuba, Bass Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, 5-Valve CC Tuba), and Trumpet, as well as Beginner Piano & Beginner Guitar.

Middle Voice Instructor

Bre is a recent graduate from Seton Hill University with a degree in music education with a minor in trumpet performance. She has marched bass drum and snare with mon valley for 2 years.  Bre has also marched tenor and snare for the Seton Hill University marching band as well as composing their drumlines music for the last two years
